Lee Jun Ki on entertainment weekly
This post is also long outdated.
Okay. So LJK oppa appeared on Entertainment weekly. They did a guerilla interview with him. Which was an interview on the streets. It was revealed that they had tried to do the interview in 2007, but there were too many fans. So they did it again this year, at the very same place.
There was this Filipino(did I spell it right?) woman who came up to him and was so excited that she couldn't speak. She was speaking some wierd gibberish which even the interviewer didn't understand. But she calmed down and managed to say in korean:" You're so handsome!" and some other stuff. Then the interviewer pulled this old woman from the crowd(he did it on purpose I guess). And the old woman said she was Japanese. When the interviewer asked her if she knew who he was, she said :"Iljimae." Was that cute or what? Then the interviewer pulled out three middle aged men. They said that they were from Singapore and Malaysia. LJK asked them if they knew who he was, and they said "Iljimae" and "My Girl".
And then after the fans episode, they started the interview. I don't remember much because I didn't take down any notes. And it was really long ago. Like a month or something. But I do remeber that he said that Iljimae took a lot out of him.( It took seven kilos out of him) So he took a break for a while and held fanmeets. But later on he filmed "hero". And blah blah blah. And when they said goodbye to each other, LJK decided to play some noona/unni. He bowed in the traditional Korean style of bowing for women. Lols. Oppa never lets me down.
And after LJK, they did an interview with Han Chae Young. I used to really like her. But now not really. She recently acted with Jang Dong Gun in "Good morning Mr president".

Lee Jun Ki hoaxes
This below is hilarious but completely untrue. These hoaxes surfaced quite some time ago, so I don't know why I'm only posting now. These articles were taken from a satirical website, but some people thought it was true and got spitting mad. By the way, that website is http://theyangpa.wordpress.com/.
After a press conference for his latest movie “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? An Effeminate Korean Guy, That’s Who!” Lee Jun Ki made some informal remarks that have sent shockwaves through the Phillipines.
"The Phillipines are sh!ts", Lee remarked.
When asked to clarify himself, Lee continued, "It's a sh!t country. Bad food, the women are ugly, and the whole place smells like old lettuce. I've never met a Filipino that I didn't want to punch in the face. I swear, it's like they have a dumbass-making factory over there."
As he spoke about his deep hatred of the Philippines, Lee became more animated, frequently brushing back his long black hair and adjusting the frilly collar on his pink shirt. It was suspected that he had become tipsy from too much pomegranate juice.
"You know who are the worst?" he asked rhetorically. "The young Filipina girls. The ones around 13 and 14 who watch my movies. Christ, they are ugly. Like little trolls. I hate their knobby little faces. When they come up to me in Korea and ask for autographs, I say "Go back under the bridge, you little monsters!"”
Lee then suggested renaming the Philippines and proposed several new names such as "the Shitappines", "Crotch Island", and "the United States of Boner Hounds".
This is sooooooooooo not true. I have three important pieces of evidence.
First one. This is a quote from the writer of this article.
QUOTE "Well, here's the story behind that article. I wrote another article making fun of Lee Jun Ki, and thereafter I started getting all of these comments from people who were apparently pubescent girl fans who weren't getting the satire. The article quickly became the most viewed, searched for, and commented article on the site. And for months, I ignored it, but after a while I decided I ought to have fun with it. So I wrote the second article. Which alone is just cruel and stupid and not even really funny, but in the context of the situation is...well...not really clever, but I guess you can understand it more. I mean, it was trying to put a twist on the situation rather than just making blunt attack on the philippines, which I've never been to, have no opinion of, and can only occasionally spell correctly. I figured it would only cause heartache and tears for 13-year-old Lee Jun Ki fans, the thought of which makes me laugh because I'm heartless. But instead it's been picked up by another bunch of people, presumably young filipino guys, who also don't understand the satire and are spitting mad about it. Really, I don't feel responsible for the feelings of people who can't understand obvious jokes. I mean, dumb people are always going to go through life suffering because of what they don't understand. And I doubt this little brouhaha will damage Lee Jun Ki's career, and also I doubt that I can be sued for what is clearly a joke. Now, regarding Korean netizens, they've been watching the site via the antienglishspecturm naver cafe for a long time now and they seemed to understand the satire for the most part. And if they let this article go without comment, then I don't know what could make them angrier. I don't think a big netizen attack is impossible. But the site is text-based and requires a good knowledge of English to even understand on a basic level. It's just not going to produce a reaction like pictures of wet t-shirt contests. Even Occidentalism.org, which is truly vicious, hasn't entered the average angry netizen's conciousness. But yeah, I don't really feel proud of the article in question. I'm disappointed that it's gotten more attention than what I think is better material. And I really don't like all the racist comments. I'm not sure what I should do with it. Pull it down? Clean up the comments? Let it die out? I hesitate to pull it because I've been aiming to make stuff that was funny and merciless and would not pander to anybody's prejudices and would not hold anybody's hand and pat them on the head and say, "oh it's just a joke." People have to think for themselves. For me to break the facade of seriousness and let everybody in on the joke wouldn't be right. I dunno. anyways, those are my thoughts."
Second one. Did you notice that they said he was drunk on pomengranate juice?
Third one. "Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? An Effeminate Korean Guy, That’s Who!' This movie doesn't exist.
Alrighty. Time for another hoax.
Lee Jun Ki Becomes Pantyliner Spokes-model
By Billy B. Robertson HNIC
Actor Lee Jun Ki has been declared the new spokes-model for Kotex Pantyliners in Korea, a move that surprises virtually no one. Says Kotex representative Sarah Geller, “We feel that Lee is a perfect fit for promoting feminine hygiene products, because when you think of Lee Jun Ki, you think ‘douchebag.’” Lee quickly became a sensation after starring in the movie The King and the Clown (왕의 남자), a Korean remake of Juwanna Man set during the Joseon dynasty. The piano-playing Lee was then featured in a series of commercials for Seongnu beverage, a pomegranate-flavored estrogen supplement. His latest turn as a pantyliner pitchman has his fans excited. “I wanna marry Lee Jun Ki! I just want to hug and kiss him all day!” squealed Park Seongi, a 37-year old inmate in Yeoungdeungpo Correctional Institute.
Now. Of course I have proof that this is fake. In case you did not realise. Read all the highlighted parts.
And another piece of evidence. This picture was phtoshopped from another advertisement. The other advertisement, by the way, was the one for the pomengranate juice.

Tamna explanations
I know, I know. Tamna the Island has a lot of explaining to do. A lot of parts supposedly don't make sense. But they actually do. So I'm going to do the explaining for them.
Flaw in logic 1:
In episode 1, when William left for Nagasaki, he left a pair of geta(Japanese footwear) for his mother, saying:"I hated seeing your dress getting wet on rainy days. I hope you can keep yourself dry with these. WTF? What's she supposed to do? Dry her dress with her shoes?
Explanation:
I've read the manhwa, and turns out those shoes are suppoesed to be like platform shoes. And William said:"If you wear these on rainy days in London, your undergarments won't get wet." Lols.
Flaw in logic 2:
In episode 2, William can't speak Korean. But he suddenly can in episode 3. And he speaks very fluently.
Explanation:
I spent a lotta time thinking this over. And I realised that Beo Jin should've been the one that taught him korean. Because in the end of episode 2 and start of episode 3, Beo Jin was teaching William some korean phrases. And in episode 3, after Park Kyu tried to teach her to write hangul, Beo Jin said:"I may not be able to write hangul well, but I am very good at teaching people how to speak Korean." And it totally fits logic because William speaks in Jeju dialect.
Flaw in logic 3:
The emperor wants William flogged to death because he did a play (Hamlet) that was not of Korean culture.
Explanation:
That misconception is 100% false. Actually, if you know your history and literature, me dearies, you would understand perfectly.
That Korean emperor is infamous for having killed his brother for the throne. Just like what happened in Hamlet. So the king thought that William was hinting to him.

Seoul International Drama Awards 2009
This post is like a gazillion weeks late. I watched and taped Seoul International Drama Awards, but it was only at the end of the two hours tht I realised that it had been on mute all the while. Anyways anyways, this is kdramafanatic bringing to you the best parts of the seoul international drama awards 2009.
Anyways, here are some videos.
SS501 U R Man live performance. Silent, shaking version can't upload for some reason. But here's the link for the perfect version.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jTUPswFFxs
Hyun Jong wasn't there because he was sick(H1N1??). Dunno about Jungmin though.
Anyways, the performance wasn't very good. There was something wrong with the microphones.Watch the video and you'll get what I mean.
And this is the acceptance speech (for Hyun Jong's award). SS501 accepted it on behalf of him.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihSwjeoOn9o&feature=video_response
(BTW, do you notice that that guy is Lee Jun Ki oppa?)
And Park Hyoshin sang Iljimae's Hwashin, which was voted as the fitfh best soundtrack. Beethoven Virus was first, and Boys Over flowers was second, I think.
Park Hyoshin Hwashin live. Silent, shaking version cannot be uploaded again.
Here's the perfect one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPhmMs3XBC8
It's so pretty. I mean the song. And Park Hyoshin. He only has one eye! Just like I used to be!
And after that, he and Taeyeon sang a duet together. Taeyeon wasn't very good. *ahem* But Park Hyoshin managed to lead her. You can see him mouthing the words when TaeYeon started on a note that was too high. But the last part is beautiful. I didn't tape this part. Thank god.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_b3cBHVxNdA&NR=1
Then there is T-Max singing Paradise. They are a whole lot more talented than ss501, but on the whole, I prefer SS501. I have a bad feeling that the silent, shaking one cannot be uploaded again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6U3hTpQsz0
The first singer (is he the leader?) sings as though he's constipated.
Then............. The highlight of the whole thingy..................Drumroll please!!!!!!!! Please. Seriously. Please.

Well I can't upload again. But if anyone wants the subbed, silent, shaky version, leave a comment and I will send it to you via email. This is the unsubbed one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inzjrcgUAeU
Here are the subs. (Done by me) I think Lee Jun Ki and his Time Between Dog and wolf co-star, Nam Sang Mi, had the longest dialogue in the show.
LJK: Good evening I'm LJK.
NSM: I'm glad to be here I'm Nam Sang Mi.
LJK: It's been a year since we've been honoured wuith the award. SM I love your dress tonight.
NSM: I tried somethingt new tonight. Is it provocative?
LJK: How have you been?
NSM: It's been three weeks since I finished shootingand I plan to take a rest for a while. You've been extremely busy and you're even more gorgeous now. How have you been? How do you take care of your health?
LJK: This year, especially since I wasn't acting, I often travelled overseas to meet my fans in Asia. So I traveeled a lot. I was on the lookout for H1N1. I'll make sure I'm cautious. T take extreme care of my health so my fans don't have to worry. I heard about Hyun Jong's infection and I hope he gets well soon. I heard he was ok, and I hope that he can meet his fans soon.
NSM: Joon Ki, your fans are waiting to see you in your new drama. What's your plan?
LJK: I wish I could have come back earlier but I had to take some time off. I was away from acting for about a year, but I'll come back soon. So wait until I come back with an awesome piece of work. Sang Mi, how about you?
NSM: I'll start a new drama soon. I loved your movie. I'm sure your drama will be great too.
LJK: This is an award fromthe fans, which makes it so meaningful. I'd like to thank all the voters who spent so much time voting for their favorite actors and actresses. Thank you so much and we love you.
NSM: Let me announce the winners now. The peoples' choice for the best actor and actressgo to Kim Hyun Jong of BBF (applause)
LJK: And Moon Geun Young of painter of the wind. Congratulations!
This is a behind the scenes footage I think.
